Feb28th09

February 28th. What's so cool about this day? The peace memorial day in Taiwan, very first parachute jump from an airplane, launch of the polar orbiting satellite -discoverer 1, and of course,

We had our memorable moments at Ruth's Chris, the prime steak house. Recommended by Alex, an amazing chef. Stepping into the restaurant was pleasant, we were greeted by well mannered hostess(escaping from the hectic buffet scene) and dimmed lit elegance atmosphere.

The lovely lady,

and the man that poses,

Cool thing about the restaurant is they'd asked you about the occasion when you make reservations. For us, the Anniversary couple, was congratulated by the waiter and waitress along the way as they got us seated. (very nice touch)

Champaign sipping.

Filet that poses..

We had Ruth's classic, a 2 course meal. First came with season gumbo for me, Caesar salad for her. Then the delectable entree of filet and ribeye. ( The only mistake of the day, when I expected everything to be perfect from a restaurant as classy as this, was overcooked the ribeye) Though, they did offer to fire up another one. We didn't want to bother, so instead:

They offered us a couple of dessert dishes.

The chocolate explosion (ever try any dessert this intense?!) and the classic creme brulee.

Overall it was a great experience. I'd give it a 4 out of 5 stars.
The price range was about 30-50 a person.

You just might want to spend a little time here with a plate of delicious steak and that very cool person.
