I skipped a few days. The days that I sat at home planning the next TIZ drop. While sitting at home, I sure had a lot of great and weird looking food:
This is like a tourist in US blogging about Jack-in-the-box. You're looking at "Mos Burger's" pearl burger. Yup, that's rice buns with seaweed and shrimp. It can't get any more Asian.
Round Table might be big in U.S. Taiwan's dominated by Pizza hut and Dominos. This is Pizza hut's latest pizza. Mayo, ham, cheese, hot dogs, and hot backed crusts. WEIRD.
This...is less than $2 US.
Ramen with HUMONGOUS seaweed.
I haven't gotten a chance to show you all the daily snap shots I've taken: Fri-Fri
The date and time might be abit off. Anyway, yesterday was Golden Melody Award ceremony's 20th anniversary. Singers competed for the highest honor with their songs and lyrics. It's one of the biggest musical award in Taiwan. Of all the singers participated, Crowd (盧廣仲) was perceived as black horse, one of whom most likely to take home an award. He was nominated for 5.
Eventually, the ceremony's come to an end. Crowd's won Best upcoming artist and best composer. Hot dam.
For the glorious occasion as a noobie singer, the company threw him a party/concert for all the die hard fans here at:
Only 500 of them were invited to enjoy Crowd's first performances after the ceremony. People's ready.
Food's ready.
..and he's ready.
Do you see...passion?
Segments of the performance here, I filmed it and edited with iMovie(ooohhh yea.) The segments are dedicated to Kevin, Joey, Cody, Carmut, and Michelle
對啊. We were probably the most vibrant peeps in the crowd.
Taiwan's roaches infested. Especially ones that fly. Just 2 nights ago, a roach, size bigger than my thumb, flew and landed on my back, then crawled across my neck. Holy shit.
Only Japanese can design these detailed bikes for the urban lifestyle. Think again, the bikes are products of the Pacific Cycles from Taiwan. and guess where we are going on Day 4 of my trip in Taiwan? (Bikes on the cover are BD-1 and Carry Me series)
Pacific Cycles, a proud company owned by Jim's grand uncle. We had the privilege to visit the inside production process of each bike that are now out being ridden by people.
After about 1.5 hours of drive down south, we've arrived.
The 1st thing displayed is the electrical bike prototype(on the right) and the classical bike. (Oh, do I miss Davis. sike.)
Pacific Cycles is a family owned business, here we have Jim's aunt giving us demonstrations on their foldable bikes.
We got to test ride all the bikes. This one's real cool. It's meant for disabled persons who can still ride with their arms. The navigation is directed by the shifting of thee butt.
All the color ways of BD-1 a.k.a. Birdy. (The ones from magazine cover)
Jim's just posing. As for me, the bike on my left is a limited color way, 1 of 1, made for a creative exhibition.
This one's my favorite- If Mode. Let alone the slick design, the bike is chain-less, meaning there's no more dirty re-chaining jobs halfway during a pleasure ride with the girlfriend. It's also foldable sideways with a compressible lock to hold the skeleton in place(a break through).
here's a look on how easily it is to fold it. It takes some times to get used to it. (Yen, Jim, and I spent a good amount of time and still couldn't fold it in 5 minutes..)
After checking out all the bikes, it was time for us to check the making of the bikes.
First step is to carve out all the necessary shaped metal for production.
Then bending into the perfect curve.
Heat set for durability.
Pant job and sticker pasting.
Assemble. Parts by parts.
Then putting them all together.
BAM. Pacific Cycles provide bikes that aim for specific purpose. They focus on niche markets. Each bike range up to $2000 to $3000.
There it is, take a good hard look at what we can do.
