Google celebrates new discoveries

Wednesday, May 20, 2009

What exactly is the new google occasional logo all about?! I'm always outdated...until Rasikh delighted me with the recent news- the discovery of the 47 million-year-old creature in Germany. It could be the key to tell the story of early primate evolution....

The fossil recovery is almost as complete as it could be- up to 95 percent, including finger tips with nails and gut content. Scientists named it Darwinius masillae.

Its gut content revealed that the creature ate leaves and fruit from its rainforest habitat.

complete story here.

Holy crap, congrats on finding a 47 million year old vegetarian that just might have a full spread feature in our future textbooks.
